About Lord Shiva Puja
Lord Shiva, Mahadev, is the great transformer of the Hindu trinity: the ascetic of Kailash who dissolves what is worn out so that new life may arise, and the compassionate Bholenath who is famously quick to bless his devotees. Worship of Shiva centers on the abhishekam, the ceremonial bathing of the Shivling with milk, honey, curd, ghee, and pure water, accompanied by offerings of bilva leaves and the resonant chanting of Om Namah Shivaya. In its fuller form, the Rudrabhishek with recitation of Sri Rudram is counted among the most sublime of all Vedic ceremonies.
Master Vishnu performs Lord Shiva Puja and Rudrabhishek for devotees throughout Houston, The Woodlands, Spring, and across Texas, at home altars or remotely on your behalf. Devotees traditionally turn to Mahadev in times of illness and grief, when seeking release from old patterns and karmic burdens, and when longing for depth in meditation and inner peace. The Maha Mrityunjaya mantra, chanted for health and longevity, may be woven into the ceremony where healing is the intention. Performed on a Monday, during Pradosh, on Shivratri, or in the holy month of Shravan, this puja is believed to bathe the devotee in Shiva's calm, purifying, and profoundly liberating grace.
