Navagraha Shanti Puja in Houston, TX

About Navagraha Shanti Puja

In Vedic astrology, the Navagraha, the nine celestial influences of Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budha, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu, and Ketu, are understood to shape the currents of human life through their positions and periods in the birth chart. When a graha is weakly placed or afflicted, its dasha or transit may coincide with struggle: delays in marriage or career, health troubles, financial instability, or a pervasive sense that effort brings no reward. The Navagraha Shanti Puja is the classical Vedic remedy, in which each of the nine grahas is honored with its own mantra, color, grain, and offerings, and respectfully requested to bestow peace.

With over three and a half decades of astrological experience, Master Vishnu first studies your kundali to identify which planetary influences require pacification, whether Shani sade sati, mangal dosha, Rahu-Ketu affliction, or a challenging dasha, and then tailors the shanti accordingly. The ceremony includes recitation of the Navagraha Stotram, japa of each graha's beeja mantra in prescribed counts, offerings of navadhanya, the nine sacred grains, and a concluding havan. Performed at your Houston-area home or remotely on your behalf, this puja is traditionally believed to soften harsh planetary periods and restore a sense of balance, protection, and forward movement.

How the Puja is Performed

Kundali Review and Sankalpa

Master Vishnu examines your birth chart to determine which grahas require shanti. A sankalpa is then taken naming you, your gotra, and the specific planetary peace being sought.

Sthapana of the Navagraha Mandal

A nine-square mandal is prepared with the navadhanya grains and colored cloths of each planet. Each graha is invoked into its position with its Vedic invocation.

Graha Puja and Beeja Mantra Japa

Every planet is worshipped with its prescribed flowers, colors, and offerings. The beeja mantras, such as those of Shani, Rahu, and Mangal, are chanted in the counts the affliction requires.

Navagraha Stotram and Havan

The Navagraha Stotram of Maharishi Vyasa is recited, followed by a fire ceremony in which samidha and ghee ahutis are offered for each graha. The havan seals the shanti.

Purnahuti, Aarti, and Remedial Guidance

The final offering is made, aarti is performed, and prasad is shared. Master Vishnu then advises supportive remedies such as daan, gemstones, or weekly practices suited to your chart.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need a Navagraha Shanti Puja?

The honest answer begins with your kundali. Recurring themes such as repeated delays in marriage or career, sudden reversals, prolonged health issues, or a heavy period of Shani sade sati often correspond to specific planetary afflictions in the birth chart. Master Vishnu offers a detailed horoscope reading first, in person in Houston or by phone and video, and recommends a Navagraha Shanti only when the chart genuinely calls for it, specifying which grahas need pacification and why.

Is the full puja needed, or can a single planet be pacified?

Both approaches exist in the tradition, and the right choice depends on your chart. When one graha is clearly the source of difficulty, a dedicated shanti, such as a Shani Shanti or Mangal Shanti, with that planet's mantra japa and offerings may be most appropriate. When several influences are entangled, as with kaal sarp dosha or multiple weak placements, the complete Navagraha Shanti honoring all nine energies is traditionally preferred. Master Vishnu explains his recommendation transparently before anything is scheduled.

Can the Navagraha Shanti be performed remotely with the havan?

Yes. For devotees outside the Houston area, or those unable to host a fire ceremony at home, Master Vishnu performs the complete Navagraha Shanti, including the havan, on your behalf at a suitable location. Your name, gotra, birth details, and intention are woven into the sankalpa, which the tradition regards as directing the merit of the ritual to you. The ceremony can be streamed by video, and blessed prasad guidance along with follow-up remedial advice is provided afterward.
